Miller Club Lambs Complete
Flock Dispersal Miller
Club Lambs announces the complete dispersal of our flock, a time-tested
set that has produced at the highest levels of competition for the past
twenty-one years. The livestock will be divided in two equal groups of
approximately 12 ewes and one ram in each group. One group will have
Neptune (Ned son) for the ram and the other will have Matrix (Marx 20
grandson). The groups can be viewed at the farm after August 20, 2010
and will be sold private treaty on a first come, first served basis.

Group O
This group includes a number of our best producing ewes over the past
decade, as well as a number of younger ewes out of the same genetic
lines that will produce similar results in the years to come. The group
is highlighted by Gwen Stefani (#71) and three of her daughters (#81,
#87, and #98). Gwen Stefani is a granddaughter of Annie and is the
mother of the Champion Heavyweight Lamb at the 2004 Ohio State Fair, one
of the three best lambs we ever produced. She is also the mother of the
Neptune ram who sells with Group X, and some of the finest producing
females in our flock over the past five years. We have included her
three best daughters in this set, all of which are impressive
individuals both genetically and phenotypically, and all of whom are in
their prime production years. The longevity of the ewes in our flock is
well-documented, with Annie producing the Grand Champion Lamb at the
Ohio State Fair in 1999, when she was nine years old. We have included
another nine-year old ewe in this set, Tempest (#57), a classwinner both
days at the 2001 Ohio State Fair, and an eight-year old ewe, Meridian
(#69), who has sired three high-selling rams in her time in our flock.
But the true power in this set is with the younger ewes, from the
five-year old Gazelle (#78 – a NED daughter that is the prototypical
brood ewe) to the yearling Saturn (#100 – a linebred Annie ewe that
produced our keeper ram lamb this year). The ram that sells with this
group is Matrix, a Marx 20 grandson that throws an earlier maturing
muscle pattern into his lambs while maintaining impeccable structure and
exceptional eye appeal. This is a set that you will appreciate looking
at, but will pay even bigger dividends genetically.
Group X
This set also offers a number of time-tested ewes as well as younger
offspring that are already producing champions. Among the older ewes in
this set are Greta (#70), an eight-year old ewe who has produced
numerous champions (including the 2010 Grand Champion at the Erie County
Fair), and Minnesota (#77), a linebred Annie ewe who has produced some
of the best younger ewes in the flock. The three-year old #91 is the
mother of the Matrix ram who sells with Group O, and Grace (#86) has
already produced a pair of county fair champions in her first three
years. Most all of the major genetic lines of breeding in our flock’s
history are represented in this group, including the Neptune ram, a NED
son out of Gwen Stefani (#71), who has established a impressive list of
champions in his five years in our flock. This is both a set for the
present and for the long-distance future.

Miller Club Lambs is a time-tested flock located
on Lake Erie just outside of Sandusky, Ohio. Over the past fifteen
years, we have developed our flock into a highly concentrated and
consistent set of twenty ewes. Despite our small numbers, we
consistently produce more champions than many flocks several times our
size. The majority of our flock
traces back to Annie (MCL #1), the cornerstone ewe of our flock, who
produced the Grand Champion Lamb at the 1999 Ohio State Fair. We
have linebred her progeny with great success over the years. The
tight genetic lines of both our ewes and rams ensure a high degree of
consistency and predictability within our breeding program. |
